Responding to International (ELL) Students’ Writing

Description: You will gain a deeper understanding of language difficulties ELL/multilingual students experience when they move to discipline-based courses. This workshop will also provide specific strategies for responding to ELL students’ writing effectively and efficiently.
Learning Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. learn about empirically confirmed observations about ELL writing
2. gain an understanding of general principles and practices for responding to ELL writing
3. learn about typical ELL grammar errors
4. identify grammar error patterns and respond to them
